Slawomir Chrystow is Polish-Bulgarian artist with oriental family roots. He got his diploma in woodcut at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow (Graphics Department). Main fields of interest are: drawing, painting and printmaking. The artist is the two-time winner of the Grand Prix NGM in Krakow and Creative Scholarship of the City of Krakow.
Fascinated by the art of Mughal India, ancient Persia and Italian Quatrocento, Chrystow creates his own unique artistic language, bringing together symbolism and aesthetics of several cultures and eras. In his workshop, alongside traditional means of expression, artist uses eastern art of Ebru (water painting) and calligraphy. Chrystow is open to the world of fairy tales and myths, creates images where the past mingles with the present, truth with fiction. Artist refers to archetypes and symbols deeply rooted in our imagination.
